Blackjack guide
Now when you go to a casino there are many different games to play. And you have to try some until you can find the one you really enjoy. But there are also somethings that I call classic games. These are the games everyone should at least try one, because they are usually the most popular ones to. Roulette is a classic example, a table where you have maybe ten different players playing at the same time where everybody is watching the small ball circulate the table. Poker is another classic example where you can find players trying to better each other. Crabs is also popular game but more seen over the Atlantic Sea in the United States. But what I would say is the most popular game of them all is actually blackjack.
Now you can just go and watch the movie 21 where they are playing blackjack on a level you would never probably be able to. Or read this guide which will simplify the game for you. Now the aim with this game is to reach 21 or as close as possible but never over. If you go over then your hand is “burned” and you lose. Now remember this game is all the players playing against the house! So you are all friend and not enemies. The dealer will give all of you two cards and only one card to the house.
To understand the game, you have to know the values of the cards. The numbered cards have the same value as the numbers. Jacks, queens, and kings are worth ten. Aces though are a little bit more complicated, they can be either one or eleven depending on what you need. Let´s say your first two cards are a seven and an eight which give you sixteen. If you will take a card and it is an ace then you have seventeen. But say there is only a five and four which is nine then an ace would get you up to twenty. If you take another card then it could go down to one again.
What your aim will be is to beat the house by getting a higher number or a blackjack. A black jack is when you get an ace and one card of the value of ten, so for example a queen. This is the best possible hand and the payout is 3 to 2. If the dealer do not get a blackjack then you win otherwise it is a draw also called “push”.
You will start will placing a bet and your dealer will give you two cards. From here you have four options depending on what your first two cards are. You can stand which means no more cards will be given to this hand. Hit meaning you want one more card. The last two options are somehow more complicated. You can double your bet when you have 8-11 on the two cards. So say you get a five and six which is eleven. You can double your bet meaning putting in the same amount as you started with and you will only get one card. Now if you get a 10 you have 21 with the double amount of money. The last possibility is to split the cards. If you get two cards of the same value you can split it, you add the same amount as your first bet. You get now two hands where you will be dealt another card on each. When you split aces you will only get one card and even if you get 21 they will not be as valuable as a blackjack but a regular 21.
